• Learning all statutory spellings from the Year 3/4 word lists
• Applying morphological knowledge: prefixes and suffixes to build new words
• Identifying and learning common homophones (e.g. there/their/they're)
• Using a dictionary and thesaurus to extend and verify vocabulary choices
