Writing, Spelling & Grammar

Year 2 writers begin composing their own sentences and short texts:

• Writing simple and compound sentences using full stops, capital letters and question marks
• Spelling words from the Year 1/Year 2 statutory spelling list
• Joining words and clauses using and, but, because and so
• Forming letters correctly with consistent size and spacing
