Reading fluency and stamina are central to the KS2 reading programme:

Comprehension

Children who read widely outside school perform significantly better across KS2:

• Exploring different genres — fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, poetry
• Discussing books at home: asking questions about characters and events
• Using the school and public library to access a wider range of books
