What is YearWise?

YearWise is a free to start AI-powered practice platform for UK primary school children in Years 1–6. It covers Maths, Reading and GPS (Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling), with questions designed to align with the KS1 and KS2 National Curriculum.

Is YearWise free?

Yes — free to start with no credit card required. The free plan includes all 3 subjects on Easy difficulty with one session per subject per day. A Plus plan (£9.99/month) unlocks unlimited sessions, all difficulty levels and SATs Papers mode.

Which year groups does YearWise support?

YearWise supports Years 1 through 6 of the UK primary school curriculum — covering Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6).

Does YearWise help with SATs preparation?

Yes. YearWise includes dedicated SATs preparation for Year 2 (KS1) and Year 6 (KS2), covering Maths, Reading and GPS in timed practice papers designed to match the SATs format.

What subjects and topics are covered?

Three subjects: Maths (60+ topics including fractions, multiplication, place value, algebra), Reading (comprehension, inference, vocabulary) and GPS — Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.

Can my child use YearWise on their own?

Yes. After you sign in as a parent, you choose which child profile is practising from the profile selection screen. YearWise then enters child mode, which hides account settings and administrative options. You can optionally set a 4-digit parent PIN so children cannot switch back to the parent account view without it. Each child profile can also have its own PIN.

How do I add a child profile?

After creating an account, you will be guided to set up your first child profile — just enter their nickname and school year. To add another child later, go to the profile switcher in the top navigation bar and tap "Add child". Each child gets their own separate progress, XP, badges and streak. The Family plan supports up to 3 child profiles.

How do I manage profile settings?

Go to Settings (⚙️ in the top nav, visible after entering parent mode). From there you can: rename a child profile, set or change your parent PIN, set or change a child's own PIN, delete a child profile (type the child's name to confirm), and delete your entire account. You can also manage your subscription and billing from the same page.

Can I delete a child's data?

Yes. You can delete any child profile instantly from the Settings page. This permanently removes their profile, all practice history, XP and badges. You will be asked to type the child's name to confirm before anything is deleted.

How does YearWise generate questions?

YearWise uses Claude AI by Anthropic to generate varied questions for each topic from a growing bank of curriculum-aligned content. Questions are designed to align with what children are taught in UK primary schools.
